Windhoek: The Namibian Police Force reported three separate incidents of suicide involving men in the Omaheke, Khomas, and Omusati regions on Friday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the first incident involved a 77-year-old man, Johannes Petrus Vorster, who was found dead at his home in Summerdown, Otjinene Constituency. The incident occurred between 09h00 and 09h30. Vorster's wife, after hearing a gunshot while at work, returned to discover his body. Preliminary investigations revealed a gunshot wound on the left side of Vorster's chest. Authorities do not suspect foul play, and the next of kin have been informed.

Later that day in Windhoek, the body of 49-year-old Titus Shikundule was found at approximately 17h00 in his bedroom in Ombili. Shikundule was discovered hanging from an electrical wire. The police have notified his next of kin, and no foul play is suspected in this case either.

In the Omusati Region, police reported the death of 35-year-old Jackson Amadhila Johannes around 13h00. Johannes was found hanging from a tree in Eemwandi village, Tsandi. His body has been transported to the Okahao Police mortuary for an autopsy, and his next of kin have been informed as well.

Investigations into all three incidents are ongoing.
