Tsumkwe: Voting for the Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections on Wednesday kicked off on time at Tsumkwe Secondary School's polling station A in the Tsumkwe Constituency. When Nampa visited the venue Wednesday morning, a few people were queuing, ready to cast their vote.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the station's presiding officer, Sydney Coma, stated that he expected voters to turn up in numbers throughout the day. The presiding officer of a polling station situated at the same school, Gladys Kuhanga, also confirmed that her polling station opened on time, at 07h00. Kuhanga expressed her expectation for the process to proceed smoothly, noting that people had received training on how to cast their votes.
A voter, Piet Taringe, expressed his delight in being among the first to cast his vote, remarking, "I feel good, I feel good." Taringe appreciated the benefits of arriving early, highlighting that the queues were not long and the weather was pleasant.
Another voter, Haita Ndapandula, emphasized the importance of voting for all citizens. She expressed confidence in her choice after casting her vote and mentioned that all that remains is to await the election results.
