Woman dies in accident on Tsintsabis gravel road

A 44-year-old woman died instantly on Friday when the government vehicle she was travelling in overturned on the Tsintsabis gravel road outside Oshivelo in the Oshikoto Region.

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) weekend crime report availed to Nampa on Monday said the deceased was identified as Christomus Ashipala.

Her relatives were informed of her death.

The police report indicated that a total of five occupants were in the Toyota Land Cruiser which was travelling from the Tsintsabis area towards the B1 road.

Approximately 36 kilometres from the B1 road, the 37-year-old woman who was operating the vehicle allegedly lost control over it on a curve, and it overturned.

“Ashipala died on the spot, while the driver and three other occupants in the vehicle sustained slight to serious injuries,” said NamPol.

The four injured occupants were admitted to the Tsumeb State Hospital.

Police investigations continue.
