Katima Mulilo: The NamPort Zambezi Regional Second Division Football League will conclude on Sunday with the title race now narrowed down to two teams, while relegation was already confirmed last weekend. The Katima Mulilo sports complex will host the showdown on Saturday and Sunday, where the top-ranked Black Hawks and the trailing Bush Bucks will compete for maximum points in a tense battle for the title and a promotional spot in the Northeast First Division Stream for the next season.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Hawks sit at the top with 50 points accumulated from 20 wins and two draws, while the Bucks follow closely behind with 46 points earned from 14 victories and four draws. Black Hawks only need one win to secure the title and guarantee their promotion berth to the first division play-offs.

Hawks face a tough challenge on Saturday in a must-win game as they host the relentless Blue Chiefs, a team that will stop at nothing to avenge their loss in the first round. They will then face Black Buffaloes on Sunday. A draw will also suffice for the Black Hawks, provided that the Bush Bucks do not earn any points in one of their matches.

Bucks will face Namib Chiefs on Saturday in a must-win encounter, if Hawks lose their Saturday game. The former will still have matters to settle on Sunday when they take on Bright Stars. Should the Bucks win both their games and the Hawks lose their remaining two games, they will claim the title and ultimately qualify for a playoff promotional berth to the top league.

The relegation issue was already resolved last weekend, resulting in the demotion of Sahara FC and Imore. Imore was defeated in a 16-2 loss to Blue Chiefs, while Sahara exited after defeating Black Buffaloes 3-2 last weekend. Sahara FC and Imore's last kick of a dying horse will be against Space Age and Green Dangers on Saturday, respectively. The two relegated teams will then wave goodbye on Sunday when they host Green Eagles and Space Age, respectively.

The remaining two encounters do not affect the remaining teams as they are all safe from relegation. Sunday will see Blue Chiefs taking on Black Buffaloes, with Oryza Sativa hosting Rocano King Rangers to conclude the 2024/2025 season finale.
