The R?ssing Uranium Marathon and 5km Fun Walk annual event set to take place at Swakopmund on Saturday has received over 1 000 entries.

R?ssing Manager for Corporate Communications Daylight Ekandjo in a media statement on Thursday described this year’s entries as the most ever received in the history of the event.

“Rössing Uranium and Swakop Striders running club are ready to host the popular event especially after it had gone virtual for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions,” she expressed.

The popular 5km Fun Walk is also scheduled to take place in aid of the Cancer Association of Namibia fight against cancer.

The marathon categories include a 42-km marathon, 21-km half-marathon and 10-km run for both men and women in the grand masters, masters, veterans and junior categories.

The event is open to all members of the public.
