Gaza city: At least 55 Palestinians were killed across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday due to Israeli attacks, according to official and local Palestinian sources.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for Gaza's Civil Defense, reported that 22 people, including children and women, were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting warehouses belonging to the Gaza Municipality. These warehouses housed dozens of displaced families in eastern Gaza City. Basal mentioned that Civil Defense teams are still working to recover victims from under the rubble.

Local eyewitness Anwar Ershi described a massive explosion occurring in the early hours, which resulted in immediate fatalities and injuries, with several bodies still trapped under the debris. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military regarding the airstrike.

Additionally, Basal reported that 15 more people were killed in separate airstrikes on the Al-Sahaba and Shuja'iyya neighborhoods and the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City. An airstrike on the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip resulted in six more deaths. In Khan Younis, located in the southern Gaza Strip, 12 people were killed, with eight being shot by Israeli forces while attempting to obtain food outside an aid distribution center.

The casualties are occurring amidst ongoing Israeli ground operations. Local sources and eyewitnesses noted that Israeli tanks have advanced into the Al-Sabra and Tal al-Hawa neighborhoods in southern Gaza City, as well as the Al-Nasr and Sheikh Radwan neighborhoods in the north, amid artillery shelling and gunfire.

Local witnesses also reported that the Israeli army has been detonating explosive-laden military vehicles, leading to widespread destruction of residential buildings. Israeli public radio Kan indicated that the army has expanded its military operations in northern Gaza City over the past two days, potentially splitting the northern Gaza Strip into two parts and creating a fourth axis dividing the enclave.

In response to the ongoing situation, Hamas has called on countries worldwide to impose a comprehensive boycott of Israel, urging legal, political, and economic isolation. This call follows Spain's approval of a full arms embargo on Israel in response to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
