Windhoek: Bank Windhoek has appointed Nangula Uaandja to its board as an independent non-executive director. The bank, in a media statement, highlighted Uaandja's extensive leadership experience, spanning over 20 years in auditing, corporate governance, investment promotion, and strategic transformation. Board Chairperson Johan Swanepoel expressed confidence that her appointment would enhance the board's governance and strategic oversight.According to Namibia Press Agency, Swanepoel stated, "We are pleased to welcome Nangula Uaandja to the Bank Windhoek board. Her proven leadership, strategic insight, and strong understanding of governance, investment, and financial services will further enrich the board's deliberations as we continue to advance Bank Windhoek's purpose and long-term objectives." Uaandja has previously served as managing partner and country senior partner at PwC Namibia before becoming the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board.In additi on to Uaandja's appointment, the bank also announced Ian Erlank as chief treasurer, effective 01 July. Erlank brings over 20 years of experience in treasury, financial markets, investments, and executive leadership. His career includes a previous tenure at the bank before moving to Capricorn Asset Management, where he held senior executive positions.Bank Windhoek Managing Director James Chapman remarked on Erlank's appointment, stating that it would strengthen the bank's treasury function and support its long-term growth. "Treasury plays a central role in safeguarding the bank's financial strength and supporting our ability to serve clients with confidence. Ian Erlank brings exceptional market knowledge, proven leadership, and a strong understanding of the Namibian financial landscape," Chapman noted.
