Beijing: Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is set to embark on a state visit to China from May 10 to 14 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. This visit marks an important engagement between the leaders of Brazil and China, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Lula, born on October 27, 1945, in Brazil’s Pernambuco state, has had a significant impact on Brazil’s political landscape. He played a crucial role in leading the labor movement and was instrumental in founding the Workers’ Party of Brazil. His political career includes serving as a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil.

Lula’s prominence in Brazilian politics was cemented when he was elected as the country’s 35th president in October 2002, followed by re-election in 2006. After a successful campaign in October 2022, he secured a third presidential term and began his latest tenure on January 1, 2023.
