China and Egypt Urged to Enhance Strategic Coordination for Common Interests

Cairo: Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized the importance of China and Egypt enhancing strategic coordination to safeguard their shared interests during his visit to Egypt's capital. Li's visit is part of an official trip to the Middle East, following an invitation from Egypt's Prime Minister, Mostafa Kamal Madbouly.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Li highlighted the deep-rooted relationship between China and Egypt, noting their status as ancient civilizations and longstanding allies. Over the past seventy years, both countries have consistently supported each other, evolving into strategic partners. This relationship has strengthened under the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, with increased political trust, successful practical cooperation, and effective multilateral coordination.

Li pointed out that China and Egypt have become a model for unity and mutual support among major developing nations. Last year, crucial meetings between the two nations' leaders resulted in a consensus to build a China-Egypt community with a shared future, paving the way for enhanced bilateral relations.

In the face of global transformations and challenges, Li stressed the need for China and Egypt, as integral members of the Global South, to collaboratively foster peace and prosperity. He affirmed China's commitment to working with Egypt to advance cooperation in all sectors, reinforcing their comprehensive strategic partnership and contributing to regional and global peace and stability.

The Egyptian Prime Minister, along with senior government officials, welcomed Li at the airport, hosting a ceremony in his honor. Prior to his visit to Egypt, Li attended the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
