Beijing: China will impose anti-dumping duties on imports of pork and pig by-products originating from the European Union (EU), effective from Wednesday, the Ministry of Commerce announced Tuesday. The anti-dumping duties will range from 4.9 percent to 19.8 percent on EU companies and will be in place for five years.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Ministry of Commerce initiated the anti-dumping investigation on June 17, 2024, at the request of the China Animal Agriculture Association. The investigation focused on pork and pig by-products from the EU.

The ministry stated that the investigation adhered to laws and regulations, consulting various stakeholders to ensure the rights of all parties were protected. The conclusion was that imports from the EU were dumped and caused harm to China's domestic industry.
