COVID-19: Namibia records 391 new cases and 11 deaths

Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Kalumbi Shangula, on Saturday announced that the country had recorded 391 new Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and 11 deaths.

Among the new cases there are 230 females and 161 males with the youngst person aged one and the oldest 104-years-old.

Khomas recorded the highest number of cases at 155, followed by Oshana with 51, Erongo 34, ||Kharas 30, Ohangwena 26, Oshikoto 25, Otjozondjupa 24, Kavango East 15, Omusati 11, Omaheke nine, Hardap eight, Kunene eight and Zambezi one.

A total number of 188 new recoveries were recorded, while 254 people are hospitalised, of which 45 are in intensive care units.

The cumulative number of comfirmed cases now stands at 54 659, with the total number of recoveries at 50 241 while active cases are 3 589 and the total death toll now stands at 818.
