Windhoek: FC Ongos were crowned the 2025/26 FNB Women's Super League champions on Saturday after defending champions Mighty Gunners stumbled on the final day of the season.According to Namibia Press Agency, Ongos, who surrendered the title to Mighty Gunners during the 2024/25 campaign after years of dominance in Namibian women's football, reclaimed the championship following a convincing 3-0 victory over Julinho Athletic. At the same time, league leaders and defending champions Mighty Gunners were held to a goalless draw by Windhoek City.Having regained top spot with two matches remaining, Mighty Gunners needed only a victory against an opponent they had comfortably beaten on previous occasions. However, they found the going far more difficult at the Independence Stadium on Saturday. Windhoek City arrived with a well-executed game plan and limited the champions' scoring opportunities despite Gunners' dominance in midfield. Meanwhile, Ongos, playing their final fixture of the season away to Julinho Athleti c at Telecom Park, initially struggled to break down their opponents in the opening minutes. They however eventually found their rhythm and scored three unanswered goals to secure a crucial victory.With Mighty Gunners dropping two points in their final match, Ongos' win was enough to secure the league title. The triumph marks Ongos' third championship under their current name. The club also enjoyed considerable success as Tura Magic, winning more than five league titles during that era. Khomas NamPol finished third to complete the podium positions in the 2025/26 Women's Super League standings.Ongos concluded the season on 55 points, one point ahead of runners-up Mighty Gunners, who finished on 54 points. Individual honours were also awarded at the end of the season. Ongos goalkeeper Zoleka Nkabinde was named goalkeeper of the season, while Mighty Gunners striker Muhinatjo Hanavi claimed both the top goalscorer and player of the season awards. Zoleka walked away with N.dollars 10,000 while Hanavi pocketed N.dollars 25,000 from her two awards.The league champions received prize money of N.dollars 250,000, while the runners-up earned N.dollars 150,000. The third-placed side took home N.dollars 100,000.
