Five-year-old sustains serious injuries after allegedly being bumped by vehicle

A five-year-old boy sustained serious injuries after he was allegedly ran over by a car at Aroab in the ||Kharas Region on Friday.

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) report issued on Sunday said the boy was allegedly bumped by Toyota Land cruiser after he ran into the road.

The incident happened around 16h00 on Friday at the southern village.

“The victim sustained serious injuries over his body and was transferred to the Keetmanshoop State Hospital for medical treatment, his condition is stable,” said the report.

The police are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving.

Meanwhile a 40-year-old man is expected to appear in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Monday after he was arrested for allegedly being in possession of a Pangolin skin.

The man was arrested on Saturday around 11h30 at the Oluzzi filling station at the northern town with the Pangolin skin valued at N.dollars 50 000, which he offered to sell to undercover operatives.

Police investigations in all matters continue.
