The University of Namibia (UNAM) Football Club and Tura Magic were on Saturday handed their first defeats of the second leg during round 18 of the 2022/23 Debmarine Namibia Premiership.

UNAM and Tura Magic went into their Saturday fixtures with a record of back-to-back wins from their previous encounters a week ago.

On Saturday at the Jan Wilkens Stadium in Walvis Bay, the Clever Boys, as the University team is known by its followers, found the going tough with a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Blue Waters, one of their heaviest of the season.

Meanwhile, Tura Magic took on struggling Eleven Arrows, who have thus far lost four of their games in a row. Despite finding themselves 15th on the log of a 16-team log standing, Arrows defeated Tura Magic 3-1 to move to 14th place with 19 points, while Tura Magic remained seventh on the log standing with 26 points from 18 matches.

The win for arrows meant they go two points ahead of Black Africa, who are now 14th on the log with 17 points. Black Africa lost their match 2-0 against Okahandja United.

The Okahandja-based outfit bounced back to winning ways after finding the going tough in their opening two matches of the second leg, which they lost. Their win moves them to 30 points and fourth on the log.

Other fixtures played on Saturday saw Tigers and Rundu-based Julinho Sporting settling for a point each after their one-all draw at the Sports Klub Windhoek field in Olympia.

Despite collecting a point, Julinho moved down to 12th place from 11th as Karasburg-based Young Brazilian collected maximum points away from home with their 1-0 win against Citizens, who are yet to win a game this season.

Young Brazilian are now 11th on the log standing from 12th, while Tigers remained ninth on the log with 22 points after their draw with Julinho Sporting.

A match scheduled between Mighty Gunners and Young Africa was abandoned in the second half due to poor visibility.

The match between Orlando Pirates and Life Fighters was also postponed.
