President Hage Geingob on behalf of the people and the Government of the Republic of Namibia extended birthday wishes to Kovambo Nujoma on Friday.

A press release issued by the Presidency said Geingob joined Founding President Sam Nujoma, the entire Nujoma family and the Namibian nation in celebrating the 90th birthday of former First Lady Nujoma.

“Madam Nujoma provided distinguished service to the Namibian people, going beyond the call of duty. As a mother, she nurtured many, demonstrated high values of loyalty and patriotism until the flag of freedom was hoisted on 21 March 1990,” Geingob said.

The Head of State said on the milestone occasion of her 90th birthday, Namibia celebrates and treasures Nujoma’s outstanding service in the interest of the Namibian people.

“We also appreciate her valuable guidance and motherly contributions to the Nujoma family and towards a united and prosperous Namibia,” Geingob said.
