Health ministry confirms possible swine flu outbreak

The Executive Director in the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Ben Nangombe, has confirmed the possible outbreak of swine flu (H1N1) in the country.
Speaking to Nampa on Tuesday, Nangombe said the ministry is currently conducting preliminary investigations on the possible provisional cases of swine flu.
“At this point we only have preliminary information pointing to a possible outbreak of swine flu. The necessary information for the public will be sent out tomorrow,” he said.
Nangombe in the meantime advised individuals to take the necessary precautions, whilst the ministry finalises its investigations.
Swine flu is a contagious respiratory disease characterised by fever, a sore throat, body aches, chills, coughing and lethargy.
