The Supreme Court's decision to overturn a ruling that protected African American voters' rights, coupled with new voter suppression laws in 24 states, further restricted voting access for many groups, including minorities and low-income individuals.

The report also depicts a landscape marred by political violence, highlighting a public disillusioned with the political system. Both major political parties faced threats, with nearly half of the voters expressing skepticism about the system's effectiveness. Economic and social inequalities became more pronounced, with inflation widening the wealth gap and over 40 million Americans living in poverty. Educational inequality perpetuated this cycle, leading to record-high credit card debt and homelessness.

Government-business collusion has intensified the drug crisis, with opioids becoming a significant concern.
