Husband allegedly assaults wife at Khorixas bar

A 29-year-old woman was reportedly assaulted in front of a bar at Khorixas by her 31-year-old husband Saturday night, the Namibian Police Force weekend crime report indicates.

The report issued Sunday states that the complainant was hit all over the head and kicked in the ribs.

The victim is admitted in the Khorixas State Hospital in a stable condition and a case of assault with grievous bodily harm read with the Domestic Violence Act was opened, it said.

The suspect was arrested and expected to appear in the Khorixas Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Meanwhile on Friday, unknown suspects reportedly stole a cow and calf at Otjitambi village in the Ehombo district valued at N.dollars 10 500. The two unknown suspects allegedly entered the kraal of the complainant and stole the animals.

They have not yet been arrested and no recovery was made.

In a separate incident, an unknown suspect allegedly slaughtered four sheep worth N.dollars 8 000 at Farm Mersa in the Aranos district on Friday.

“Only the skins and heads were recovered. The suspect is not known and no arrest has been made,” the report states.

Police investigations in all matters continue.
