Duhok: Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani confirmed that the Coordination Framework (CF), an alliance of Shiite parties and the current ruling coalition, is set to begin discussions with other political factions to establish the next government.

According to Namibia Press Agency, al-Sudani made these remarks while speaking at the sixth Middle East Peace and Security Forum in the Kurdistan region's Duhok. He emphasized the CF's status as the largest parliamentary bloc following the announcement of the parliamentary election results, as per a statement from his media office.

The CF announced late Monday its designation as the largest parliamentary bloc, uniting all its constituent entities in preparation for nominating the next prime minister. To expedite the government formation process, the CF has established two high-level committees. One committee is tasked with leading discussions on national entitlements and crafting a unified approach to governance, while the other will focus on interviewing and vetting candidates for the prime minister role, ensuring they meet professional and national criteria.

The Iraqi electoral commission revealed the final results of the November 11 parliamentary elections on Monday, highlighting a strong showing by al-Sudani's political coalition. The Reconstruction and Development Coalition, led by al-Sudani, secured 46 seats in the 329-member Council of Representatives, ranking it first among competitors.
