Gobabis: Swapo's candidate for the Gobabis Constituency in the regional council elections, Liberius Shetunyenga Kalili, says if he is elected, his prime focus will be to implement Swapo's priority areas and the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6). Kalili, who was elected to contest the constituency councillor position after he outperformed current Gobabis councillor Augustinus Tebele in the party's primaries, said he will diligently implement the seven key priorities as stipulated in the Swapo manifesto. They include agriculture, sports, youth empowerment, quality education and training, creative industries, quality health and social welfare, and land, housing, and sanitation.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Kalili stated that these priorities are crucial for inclusive growth, social progress, and shared prosperity for the inhabitants of Gobabis and all Namibians. The Swapo candidate added that he will also extend his task to implement and work in accordance with the NDP6. Kalili emphasized his role as a dedicated servant of the community, highlighting the much-anticipated vision of NDP6 for the country that aims to ensure no one is left behind. He mentioned incorporating the powerful message by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, which says, "We are too few to be poor."
Kalili expressed gratitude to the district leadership, branches, sections, and all delegates for the trust they placed in him. He further urged the Swapo district leadership, supporters, and sympathisers to mobilise in large numbers to ensure a resounding victory for the Swapo party in the Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections set for 26 November 2025.
