Kunene Acquires Enough Ballot Papers to Complete Voting.

Windhoek: The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has confirmed that the Kunene Region has received additional ballot papers from the commission's headquarters in Windhoek, enabling the completion of voting at 15 remaining polling stations.According to Namibia Press Agency, these ballot papers are intended to address the shortages that have delayed the voting process since Wednesday's elections. Kunene's ECN elections officer, Mike Nganjone, told Nampa on Friday that the region is now prepared to finalise voting at the outstanding sites.Four ballot books have been distributed per mobile voting team, with each book containing 400 ballot papers. Fixed polling stations have been provided with 500 ballots each, and reserves are available if necessary. "We have received sufficient ballot papers. We have provided our mobile teams each with four ballot books for every election, for every mobile team," he noted.With the additional supplies, the ECN is confident the region will complete the voting process by S aturday night as extended by the commission. Voting at the remaining 15 polling stations, located in both the Epupa and Opuwo Rural constituencies, is expected to be completed soon. These include locations like Oruhona, Otjomuru Primary School, Ongenga, Osia, Okauua, Otjitanda Primary School, all in the Epupa Constituency; and the Opuwo Rural Constituency's Kaoko-Otavi School, Musaso Combined School, Ozohaviria, Omuhiva Mobile School, Ondjete, Okavare, Otuvero and Epupa.The ECN has also indicated that the vote-counting process in several constituencies of Khorixas, Kamanjab, Opuwo Urban, Outjo, and Sesfontein, has already concluded.
