According to Namibia Press Agency, Liverpool's newly acquired striker, Hugo Ekitike, who joined the team from Eintracht Frankfurt for 70 million pounds, made an immediate impact by breaking through Bournemouth's defense in the 37th minute with a composed finish. Ekitike continued to influence the game as he assisted Cody Gakpo early in the second half. Gakpo's impressive run past several defenders culminated in a low shot into the corner, doubling Liverpool's lead.

Despite being two goals down, Bournemouth showed determination and resilience. Antoine Semenyo initiated a comeback for the visitors by reducing the deficit in the 64th minute following a coordinated move down the left flank. Semenyo further energized his team by equalizing with a remarkable solo effort just 12 minutes later.

As the match seemed poised to end in a draw, Liverpool's Federico Chiesa scored his first Premier League goal in the 88th minute, reclaiming the lead for the home team.
