Antananarivo: The Presidency of Madagascar has announced the dissolution of the National Assembly, the lower house of the country's bicameral Parliament. This action was confirmed through a decree issued by the Presidency, stating, "The National Assembly is dissolved, in accordance with the provisions of Article 60 of the Constitution."

According to Namibia Press Agency, the announcement of the dissolution occurred as the National Assembly was in the process of gathering signatures to convene an extraordinary session. This session was aimed at initiating impeachment proceedings against the head of state, as reported by local media sources. The timing of the dissolution has raised significant political questions regarding the stability and governance of the nation.
