Ongwediva: Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) has committed N.dollars 350 000 to the 2026 Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF), reaffirming its support for entrepreneurship and economic development.According to Namibia Press Agency, MTC in a media statement on Monday noted that in addition to the cash sponsorship, the company donated airtime worth more than N.dollars 12 000 to assist the organising committee and branded merchandise valued at over N.dollars 20 000 for trade fair personnel.MTC Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability Officer, Tim Ekandjo, said the company's continued support reflects its confidence in the trade fair's role in promoting business growth and creating opportunities for local entrepreneurs. 'We are proud to reaffirm our support for a showcase that has, for 25 years, connected businesses, inspired enterprise and contributed meaningfully to Namibia's economic development,' Ekandjo said.Commenting on the sponsorship, Ongwediva Mayor Naemi Amuthenu described th e annual trade fair as the town's 'economic heartbeat', saying support from the private sector contributes to business development, entrepreneurship, job creation and innovation.The 2026 Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair, which marks its 25th anniversary under the theme 'A Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Economy', is scheduled to take place in August.
