Trans-kalahari: The Acting Inspector General (IG) of the Namibian Police Force, Major General Anne-Marie Nainda, visited the Trans-Kalahari Border Post on Thursday.According to Namibia Press Agency, a brief statement by NamPol in the Omaheke Region, the purpose of the acting IG's visit was to engage with officials stationed at the Namibia-Botswana border and assess the well-being and working conditions of police officers deployed at the border.Nainda was accompanied by senior police management officers and welcomed by Festus Shidute, the principal customs and excise officer at the Trans-Kalahari Border Post. Shidute delivered a detailed presentation highlighting the history of the border post, its operations, coordinated border management activities and initiatives, challenges, as well as planned future improvements. The delegation also toured the facility that accommodates border officials from both Namibia and Botswana.Nainda commended all border agency personnel and police officers for their dedicat ion and urged them to continue performing their duties diligently and professionally. She further stressed that her visit was intended to support, ensure operational responsiveness and the importance of maintaining effective security measures so that the facilitation of trade across the border is not hampered.The delegation also visited Buitepos Police Station where Nainda applauded and encouraged the station to continue the excellent work despite existing challenges and limited resources. Nainda is currently in the Omaheke Region to officiate the graduation ceremony on Friday at Legare Sport Complex of cadet constables who recently completed their training.
