Namibia Dairies and Nafau Finalize Wage Agreement

Windhoek: Namibia Dairies and the Namibia Food and Allied Workers Union (Nafau) have successfully concluded a new wage agreement that will result in a five per cent salary increase for employees.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the agreement is effective from July 2025 until June 2026, as stated in a joint media release issued on Monday. Under the terms of the agreement, all 367 permanent employees in the bargaining unit will receive a five per cent salary increase along with a one-time ex gratia payment of N.dollars 2 300.

Namibia Dairies Managing Director Wynand Oosthuizen remarked that the agreement reflects the company's commitment to prioritizing its workforce. On behalf of Nafau, negotiator Tuyeni Michael expressed approval of the deal, describing it as a balanced outcome for both parties and highlighting its role in enhancing the financial security of union members.

The statement further noted that the agreement serves as evidence of how mutual respect and a shared vision can help navigate economic challenges, ensuring progress for both the company and its employees. Namibia Dairies, a subsidiary of the Ohlthaver and List Group, emphasized that the agreement aligns with its goal to be recognized as one of the Top 10 employers in the Global Great Place to Work survey. The statement concluded with the sentiment that when organizations remain true to their values and show care towards their people, shared success is achieved.
