Windhoek: The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, in partnership with the Commonwealth, is hosting the inaugural Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC) Consultative Dialogue in Windhoek this week. The event marks a significant milestone as it brings the first-ever CYC Consultative Dialogue to Namibian soil.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the ministry announced in a media statement on Sunday that the CYC Consultative Dialogue is scheduled to take place from 04 to 08 August. The dialogue will bring together over 100 youth leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the 56 Commonwealth nations. It will be held under the theme: 'Reimagining Youth Leadership: Strengthening Systems for Sustainable Impact'.
The opening of the CYC Consultative Dialogue will commence a week of youth-led engagement and strategic dialogue, featuring high-level roundtables and panel discussions. The dialogue will focus on key development areas such as innovation, climate action, education, economic inclusion, and civic participation.
The CYC is the world's largest youth-led organization, representing over 1.5 billion young people. The dialogue aims to recalibrate the council's strategies to better address the evolving challenges that young people face globally.
