Ohangwena: The NamPower Foundation on Tuesday handed over a three-classroom block at Titus Ndjaba Combined School, along with a guardroom and school fence at Oluwaya Combined School in the Epembe constituency of the Ohangwena Region. The projects were completed at a cost of over N.dollars 1.6 million.

According to Namibia Press Agency, during the joint handover ceremony, Ohangwena Education Director Isak Hamatwi expressed that the initiative signifies a partnership dedicated to advancing education in Namibia. Hamatwi highlighted the significance of this investment, emphasizing that education remains a fundamental pillar for development.

Hamatwi noted that the improvements in school infrastructure ensure safety for learners and teachers, while also elevating the dignity of the learning environment at both schools. He praised NamPower for extending its efforts beyond urban centers and reaching rural areas, underscoring its role as an inclusive partner committed to all Namibians.

The director further mentioned that the increasing number of learners in the region has led to a shortage of classrooms, making partnerships like the one with NamPower crucial for addressing the region's educational infrastructure needs. He acknowledged the challenges in education and stressed the importance of partnerships and collaborations in overcoming them.

Sarah Wayiti, the NamPower Foundation Liaison Officer, reiterated the foundation's commitment to investing in the education sector, which is vital for empowering future generations. She also urged the community, learners, and educators to maintain the newly developed infrastructure for the benefit of current and future generations, while assuring continued investment in community development as resources allow.
