Windhoek:The Old Mutual Foundation has allocated N$300,000 to support 18 staff-led community projects across various regions of Namibia. This funding follows a record 28 applications under its 2026 Staff Community Builder initiative.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the initiative encourages Old Mutual employees to identify and support community causes, with projects chosen through a thorough evaluation process.

The selected projects will focus on diverse areas, including education, food security, disability support, elderly care, suicide prevention, and overall community development. These projects will be implemented in the Khomas, Hardap, Erongo, Oshana, Omusati, Kavango West, and ||Kharas regions.

Mignon du Preez, Group Marketing, Public Affairs and Sustainability Executive at Old Mutual Namibia, highlighted the positive impact of employee involvement. She stated that the initiative allows employees to transform compassion into action, creating measurable change where it is needed most.

The foundation is funded through an annual allocation of 1% of Old Mutual's after-tax profit, focusing on social empowerment, skills development, and sustainable development.
