A 71-year-old man allegedly hanged himself with a rope on a Marura tree near his homestead on Saturday morning at 09h00.

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol), in a weekend crime report issued on Sunday, indicates that the deceased was identified by his close relatives the same Saturday morning as Jonas Shilihuleni from the Omutsengwoholongo village in Ruacana area.

No suicide note was left behind and no foul play is suspected so far in the matter.

At Onandjaba village in the Okalongo district, a 54-year-old woman, identified as Ester Johannes, also allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with a rope in her sleeping room on Saturday morning.

“Johannes, who is from Eengwena village at Okalongo, did not leave behind any suicide note. Thus, the motive behind her alleged suicide is still unknown to the police,” said the report.

At Farm Waldschmt near Windhoek, 32-year-old Kristianna Kashilinge also allegedly hanged herself with a rope on Saturday morning.

Kashilinge did not leave behind any suicide note, and therefore the motive behind her alleged suicide is unknown to the police.
