Moscow: The atmosphere of the most recent telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump was trusting, frank, and constructive, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Peskov described the interaction as "an absolutely trusting, frank, constructive working atmosphere" during a conversation with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin. The call, which occurred on Tuesday, was one of the longest between the two heads of state, Peskov added.
"Overall, if you look at the timing, including translation, it lasted about two hours. And, indeed, in terms of the duration, it was probably one of the longest conversations between the two heads of state," the spokesman noted, highlighting the significance of the exchange.
The telephone conversation is seen as a step towards an in-person meeting between the two presidents, with Peskov emphasizing the need for proper preparation for such a meeting. The two leaders had also spoken over the phone on February 12, and Peskov did not rule out the possibility of more than two phone calls having occurred over the past few weeks.
