Belgrade: Serbia will not become a member of NATO or the CSTO, it must ensure its own security, although this is difficult, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin told RIA Novosti.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Vulin articulated Serbia’s steadfast policy of military neutrality. He emphasized that this stance precludes Serbia from expanding its participation in any military bloc. Vulin stated that Serbia aims to maintain the best relations with all countries, especially its neighbors, and will not join NATO or the CSTO.

Vulin acknowledged that maintaining military neutrality presents significant challenges for a country of Serbia’s size. He underscored the importance of guaranteeing Serbia’s own security, describing it as a difficult but honest path. He stressed the significance of making independent security decisions.

Currently, the Serbian parliament holds observer status in the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, reflecting the country’s interest in engaging with international military discussions without full membership.
