Golubac: Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed commendation for the Chinese construction teams while inspecting the Danube Corridor expressway. The key infrastructure project, being constructed by a Chinese company in eastern Serbia, is progressing rapidly.
According to Namibia Press Agency, during his field tour in the municipality of Golubac, Vucic remarked, "I'm very happy to be here today. We are just a few months away from completing the entire road." The 68-km Danube Corridor is designed to link the Branicevo district in eastern Serbia with the capital city of Belgrade and the international E75 highway. It is a strategic project aimed at enhancing economic development and connectivity.
Constructed by China Shandong International Economic and Technical Cooperation Group Ltd. (CSI), with assistance from Serbian subcontractors, the project is valued at approximately 337 million euros (396 million U.S. dollars). Vucic emphasized its importance, stating, "This is one of the most important projects for the development of our country. It will unlock the potential of this region, improve logistics, and support tourism, especially around destinations like Silver Lake."
Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming also commented on the project, stating, "Every kilometer we finish brings us closer to the shared goals of our two countries." He added that China is committed to long-term cooperation with Serbia.
