As a significant global consumer and importer of sugar, China's listing of sugar futures on the ZCE in January 2006 has been instrumental for sugar-related enterprises, enabling them to hedge against price volatility. The decline in sugar futures reflects the ongoing market dynamics and trading activities on the ZCE, highlighting the importance of such financial instruments in managing risk for businesses involved in the sugar industry.
