Rundu:A 14-year-old girl drowned in the Kavango River at Mabiye village in the Rundu district on Saturday. She was reportedly fishing with five other minor girls at the time of the incident.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian Police Force crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, confirmed the incident on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Salome Nanonge, a resident of Tuhingireni. The group entered the river at approximately 14h00 and was caught by strong currents.
