Hardap: Police in the Hardap Region recorded three deaths and a housebreaking case over the weekend.
According To Namibia Press Agency, the weekend crime report issued by Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi detailed these incidents, beginning with the death of 28-year-old Hans Nero. Nero allegedly died by suicide at Donkerhoek near Kalkrand on Saturday night. He was found hanging in a toilet with no foul play suspected, and no suicide note was discovered. His family has been informed, and investigations are ongoing.
In a separate incident, a 69-year-old man, identified as Dawid Seroun, died at his home in Kalkrand on Friday morning. Seroun reportedly suffered from a medical condition, leading the police to open an inquest. His next of kin have been informed of his passing.
Another inquest was registered in Maltah¶he after 69-year-old Johannes Vlees was found dead at his home in Blikkiesdorp on Friday afternoon. Similar to Seroun, Vlees reportedly suffered from a medical condition, and his family has been notified.
Meanwhile, a housebreaking and theft incident was reported in Gochas on Saturday morning. A 32-year-old suspect is in police custody following allegations of breaking into the complainant's office and proceeding to a garage, where personal belongings and electronic items were stolen. Some of the stolen property has since been recovered, and police investigations continue.
