A 29-year-old man died in the Tsumkwe area Monday night after allegedly being attacked by his partner.

The deceased was identified as Cornelius Kapango from Kanovlei village in the Tsumkwe West area.

Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha on Wednesday in an interview with Nampa said preliminary investigations by the police indicate that the 25-year-old suspect used sticks to hit Kapango all over his body.

After he died, the suspect dragged his body into the bushes near the Kanovlei village gravel road.

“The suspect then fled the village on foot and we are pursuing him. It is just a matter of time and he will be arrested,” Mbeha said.

The police officers in the area formed teams who were tracking the suspect on Tuesday.
