A 12-year-old girl was reportedly raped by her 52-year-old neighbour at Khorixas on Saturday.

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in its weekend serious crime report on Sunday said it is alleged that the minor girl was called by a neighbour who promised her one dollar.

After the minor refused to go to him, the suspect allegedly grabbed her and dragged her into his shack, stuffed cloth into her mouth and had sexual intercourse with her.

“After the incident, the victim reported the matter to her guardian. A 52-year-old male suspect was arrested. Both the victim and suspect were taken to the hospital for treatment and examination,” the report said.

A 24-year-old man allegedly also raped an 11-month-old baby girl at Eendadi village on Saturday.

According to the report, the suspect took the baby from their house and fled to the bushes with her, where he allegedly had sexual intercourse with her.

Both the victim and suspect were taken to the Engela District Hospital and the suspect is being held at the Ohangwena Police Station.

Furthermore, NamPol arrested a 25-year old man at Stampriet on Saturday after he allegedly molested a girl.

According to the report, the suspect who is a security guard invited the girl and boy whom he across while on his way to work, to join him at work.

“The suspect ordered the children to remove their clothing and allegedly molested the girl. The boy managed to escape and reported the matter to his parents,” the report said.

Police investigations in all matters continue.
