Floritha Stakes Her Claim As Namibia’s Best

Since breaking onto the scene in 2012, powerhouse singer Floritha Fleermuis has won legions of fans, multiple awards and some would say, the title of Namibia’s best solo performer.

Raised in the south on gospel in her early days, the beautiful songstress has worked hard to improve her act and with two acclaimed albums in the bag, she is set to make an even bigger mark on the burgeoning local industry.

The Warehouse this weekend hosted an unbelievable show by the singer, who serenaded the awed audience with hits off her first two albums, ‘I Owe It All To You’ and ‘Don’t Judge’. She also performed impressive covers from legends like Michael Jackson.

Many, like myself, who have had the previous pleasure of watching Floritha perform knew to expect a top class show but were still unprepared for the spectacle that unfolded.

With the backing of a live band, Floritha took the audience on a musical journey filled with all the soul and emotion one expects from a two time NAMA ‘Best RampB’ award winner.

“There’s just something magical about live music and how everything, the different instruments, the vocals and the audience come together which makes it a very special experience,” said the songstress.

She had the audience spellbound with her flawless singing and ravishing beauty before picking up the pace with jukebox bangers and up tempo house tracks.

“I’m busy recording a few exciting collaborations at the moment, so fans can look forward to something new being released soon, including my new video, ‘Queen of the Night’ that we shot in the USA recently,” she said.

It seems there’s no stopping this musical maven and many music lovers agree that she is fast entering a league of her own. Throughout October you can catch her at the Hilton Hotel every Thursday evening.
