Road Accident Claims a Life

A LUumlDERITZ resident died instantly after the GWM bakkie he was driving overturned on the B1 road between Karasburg and Grunau about three kilometres outside Karasburg on Saturday afternoon.

Karas police detective inspector Ndati Pekaha identified the deceased as Norbert Shanika.

Pekaha said two passengers Harold Malo (46) and James Olman (27), who were also in the vehicle were admitted to the Karasburg State Hospital with various degrees of injuries.

Pekaha said Malo sustained a fractured hip but described his medical condition as stable and that Olman, who sustained slight injuries, was discharged from hospital yesterday morning.
