Aranos: The official opening of the Motor Vehicle Clearance and Conduct Certificate Office at Aranos Police Station marks a significant move towards decentralising government services and enhancing accessibility for the residents of Aranos and nearby communities.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Hardap Governor Riaan McNab, during the official opening of the office, emphasized the government's dedication to ensuring public services are more readily available where people reside. McNab highlighted that the launch represents more than just the inauguration of a facility; it embodies the government's dedication to delivering services closer to the population and ensuring inclusivity in the national development agenda.

Residents have historically been compelled to travel extensive distances to access vehicle clearance and related services, often incurring substantial financial and personal costs. McNab noted that the establishment of the office is a practical initiative designed to enhance efficiency, reduce travel burdens, and provide faster, more convenient access to essential services.

The facility is set to bolster law enforcement efforts by improving access to vehicle registration, clearance, and conduct-related services, which are crucial in tackling vehicle-related crime, promoting road safety, and facilitating legitimate vehicle ownership. McNab urged officials at the office to maintain professionalism and integrity, stating that the facility's success would ultimately be measured by the quality of service provided to the public.

Hardap Regional Police Commander, Commissioner Sydney Philander, remarked that the new office is part of the Namibian Police Force's strategy to enhance service delivery and bring essential services closer to communities. He warned that motor vehicle theft continues to be a significant cross-border challenge within the Southern African Development Community, and the office will play a vital role in detecting stolen vehicles and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Philander added that the office would streamline vehicle clearance processes across the Hardap Region while maintaining high levels of integrity and accountability.
