According to Namibia Press Agency, Chief Treasurer Ian Erlank stated that most loans were extended through the bank's Sustainability Loan program. This program supports clients investing in sustainability-focused projects, particularly small-scale initiatives, within defined thresholds.

Erlank noted that the average loan value was approximately N$1.5 million, highlighting the bank's commitment to supporting smaller sustainability projects as part of its sustainability-linked bond commitments. He emphasized that sustainable finance should address both environmental and social needs while supporting economic objectives, demonstrating that economic goals can be pursued alongside environmental and social impact.

Bank Windhoek remains committed to achieving its N$300 million sustainable finance target. Erlank mentioned that the bank is focused on addressing gaps that have previously hindered the identification and origination of eligible sustainability-related financing opportunities.

In the upcoming financial year, the bank plans to raise awareness of its financing options and accelerate progress towards its N$300 million target. Erlank added that Bank Windhoek would continue to explore ways to enhance its offerings and establish itself as the preferred financier for sustainability-linked opportunities.
