The body of a 34-year-old man from Orunahi village near Okakarara was found hanging from a tree Monday afternoon.

The Namibian Police Force’s (NamPol) Otjozondjupa regional spokesperson, Inspector Maureen Mbeha on Tuesday told Nampa the body of the deceased was found with a rope around his neck in the bushes at Orunahi village.

The deceased was identified as Fares Uaihamiza.

“A suicide note addressed to his family was also found and it was handed over to the family,” Mbeha said.

A passerby allegedly found the body around 12h45 on Monday and alerted the police.

Mbeha explained that an inquest has been opened at the Okakarara Police Station.

Police investigations continue.
