Phnom penh: Cambodia earned 390 million U.S. dollars in revenue from exports of natural rubber latex in the first nine months of 2025, marking a decrease of 1 percent compared to the previous year. The report, compiled by the General Directorate of Rubber, highlighted a significant reduction in export volume, with 220,240 tons of rubber latex exported from January to September 2025, down 11.4 percent from 248,535 tons during the same period last year.
According to Namibia Press Agency, despite the decline in export volume, domestic consumption of rubber latex in Cambodia has seen a substantial increase. Khun Kakada, deputy director general of the General Directorate of Rubber, stated in the report that the average cost of a ton of rubber latex was 1,771 dollars during the first nine months of 2025, which is approximately 185 dollars higher than the same period in 2024.
Cambodia primarily exports rubber latex to Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, and China. The report also mentioned that Cambodia has planted rubber trees over a total area of 425,443 hectares, with 330,259 hectares, or 77.6 percent, being mature enough for tapping.
