Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation says about ties between Namibia and USA as solid foundation

The ties between Namibia and United states of America (USA) have provided a solid foundation for the two countries to address common challenges, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Christine //Hoebes has said.

Speaking here yesterday at the celebration of the USA's 243rd independence anniversary, //Hoebes said she is pleased with the level of development and the ties of friendship and solidarity between the two countries since Namibia's independence in 1990.

Indeed, Namibia and the United States of America share longstanding and cordial bilateral relations and cooperation underscored by the USA support to Namibia, such as the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, the U.S. Agency for International Development, as well as the U.S. Peace Corps, to mention just a few, she said.

She added that the ties between the two countries help them work together to deal with challenges such as climate change, global epidemics, the rapidly expanding global population, poverty and inequality.

She further commended the USA after a record a number (six) of women announced their candidacy for the democratic nomination to seek the Office of the President of the USA.
