Document Warehouse Football Club (FC) won the ‘Back to Football’ tournament of the Otjomuise Soccer League played on Saturday at the Augustinum Soccer Field after they defeated Mempos FC 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

According to organiser and chairperson of the Otjomuise Soccer Leage, Nelson Shipandeni, the tournament was meant bring back football, which was halted due to COVID-19 regulations and the lockdown.

He added that it also served as preparation for the 2021 soccer season and to awaken the soccer spirit in the fans and supporters.

“There was a great display of talent from all teams and to my surprise I also saw quiet a number Brave Warriors players in some teams, like Ivan Kamperiba and Mervin Papama.

En route to the final, Document Warehouse defeated Airport Eagles 4-1, while Mempos won 2-1 against Destiny FC.

Document Warehouse FC received N.dollars 5 000, a trophy and 18 gold medals, while Mempos FC walked away with N.dollars 3 000 and 18 silver medals.

Airport Eagles and Destiny FC each received N.dollars 1 000 each as losing semi-finalists.
