Windhoek: Swakopmund-based Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) Premier League outfit Dolphins registered their fifth victory of the season after defeating UNAM 27-17 in Swakopmund on Saturday. With the four semi-final spots already confirmed, Dolphins, who are pushing for a higher finish on the log, produced an impressive performance against a UNAM side that was 15 points ahead of them before the match.

According to Namibia Press Agency, playing at the Dolphin Sports Ground, the home side ran in five tries through Vaino Gamatham, Jerome Immanuel, Antonio Titus, Brandon Brendell, and Vijanda Tjikotoke. Maughan Jarman converted one of the tries as Dolphins secured a convincing victory. UNAM scored two tries, converting one. The win saw Dolphins retain sixth place on the log with 33 points, while UNAM remained fifth on 43 points.

Elsewhere, Grootfontein were awarded maximum points after Reho Falcons failed to honour their fixture. Grootfontein were awarded a 49-0 victory, allowing them to retain fourth place on the log. Montego United continued their impressive run with a 52-26 victory over Khomasdal-based Western Suburbs on Friday. United comfortably outclassed a Western Suburbs side still searching for its first victory of the season. The result left United second on the log with 71 points.

In Walvis Bay, log leaders Wanderers strengthened their position at the top with a 22-12 victory over defending champions Kudus. The victory took Wanderers to 80 points, nine points ahead of second-placed United, while Kudus remained third with 67 points. The final round of Premier League matches will be played next weekend, with Wanderers, United, Kudus, and Grootfontein having already secured their places in the semi-finals. The play-offs will determine the two teams that will contest the 2026 NRU Premier League final.
