Windhoek: Vipers and Oranjemund Rugby Clubs will battle for the Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) First Division title when they meet in the final next weekend. The two sides booked their places in the title decider after winning their respective NRU First Division play-off matches at the Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek on Saturday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, in the opening semi-final, Vipers captain Nicolaas Mostert scored two crucial tries as his side overturned a six-point half-time deficit to beat Keetmanshoop Rams 28-24. Rams enjoyed a strong first half and went into the break with a 19-13 lead, putting themselves in a favorable position to reach the final. Vipers, however, returned from the interval with renewed purpose and took control of the encounter. Mostert led the comeback with two tries as the Windhoek-based side turned the match in their favor. Vipers added a penalty to take their tally to 28 points, while Rams managed only one unconverted try in the second half. Despite the defeat, Rams produced a spirited performance but struggled to maintain their attacking momentum after the break.

In the second semi-final, Walvis Bay-based Oceans Rugby Club faced Oranjemund in another closely contested encounter. Oranjemund made a strong start and dominated the opening exchanges, with their early pressure helping them establish a commanding 21-0 lead at half-time. Oceans responded with a determined second-half comeback, scoring three tries and converting two to put Oranjemund under pressure. Oranjemund, however, remained composed and withstood the comeback before adding another try to secure a 26-19 victory. The win earned Oranjemund a place in the final against Windhoek-based Vipers for the NRU First Division title.

Oranjemund will be led by former Namibia international wing Gino Wilson as they return to the capital for Saturday's championship decider. Both sides will head into the final on the back of strong play-off performances, setting up a competitive encounter for the First Division crown.
