DPRK’s Top Leader Engages Russian Defense Chief in Strategic Talks in Pyongyang.

Pyongyang: Kim Jong Un, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), met with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov in Pyongyang, as reported by the DPRK's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Saturday. The meeting focused on enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations, addressing sovereignty, security, and interests, as well as maintaining international justice amidst changing regional and international security landscapes.According to Namibia Press Agency, Kim Jong Un, who serves as the general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, voiced his "great concern" regarding the situation in Ukraine. He criticized the United States and certain Western countries for allowing Kiev to use long-range strike weapons against Russian territory, equating it to direct military intervention. Kim emphasized that Russia's actions to make hostile forces accountable are a rightful exercise of self-defense, reiterating DP RK's unwavering support for Russia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.Kim highlighted that the strong relationship between DPRK and Russia acts as a significant security mechanism, promoting the well-being of both nations, stabilizing the regional situation, and ensuring international strategic stability. He expressed a commitment to expanding bilateral ties across various fields, including politics, economy, and military affairs, based on agreements from the bilateral summit held in Pyongyang in June.On the same day, DPRK's Defense Minister No Kwang Chol and Russian Defense Minister Belousov held discussions in Pyongyang, reaching an agreement to enhance cooperation by implementing the decisions made by the top leaders of both countries. Belousov noted that the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership plays a stabilizing role in northeast Asia and expressed a desire to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation amid a complex international environment.
