A study published in Science Advances reveals a new reusable and biodegradable foam capable of absorbing microplastics in water with an initial efficiency of 99.8 percent. The foam, crafted from chitin found in squid bone and cellulose from cotton, was developed by scientists from Wuhan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, offering a sustainable solution to this environmental challenge.
